Agency.com is a New York City based advertising, web development, and interactive marketing agency, formed in 1995. Their clients have included British Airways, Deutsche Bank, Nike, Sprint, Texaco, BT, eBay, HP, Maidenform, Ask.com, Del Monte, IKEA and T-Mobile.

They have over 500 employees in nine global offices (New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Dublin, London, Brussels, Milan and Amsterdam).

Agency.com became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Omnicom Group, Inc. in 2003. Agency.com is a member of the TBWA\Worldwide Group of Companies.

 

Experiences, not messages.


Agency.com became very well known in the mid 2000's for creating rich, immersive advertising campaigns and highly usable websites. The premise of creating experiences and not messages was the driving motivation behind their success. One very notable campagin with Baskin-Robbins in 2007 has been credited with changing how we now see and celebrate birthdays.

In 2007 Agency.com and Baskin-Robbins partnered together to bring fun back to ice cream and fun back to birthdays. During that time, the ice cream marketplace was cluttered with brands offering gimmicky angles: singing clerks, thousands of ingredient combinations, and an exceedingly serious and sterile ice cream experience for consumers.

Birthdays are fun, ice cream is fun, together they create an experience that is worth remembering. This was the overreaching theme of Agency.com's approach and using innovative delivery channels and strong design elements they spread this truth to the people. The result: everyday, all across America, there are people enjoying a free ice cream on their birthday at their favorite Baskin-Robbins.
